Edith was born in 1907, at Glenbrook Station, Cooma, NSW, to Richard William Brooks and Mary Aloysius Corbett. On 8 September 1934, she married Cecil Mobbs at St Paul's Church at Carlingford, NSW. The couple had three children, Eileen, Cecily and Cecil. Edith passed away at Auburn Hospital in 1963, and is memorialized at Rookwood, NSW.
