James Brooks was born in Appalachia, in Virginia.
James Clancy Brooks was born in Tazewell County, Virginia in November 1797.[1] He was the son of Thomas Brooks and Catherine Clancy.
James Clancy Brooks married Mary Polly Asbury on 24 August 1820 in Tazewell, Virginia.[2]
