Mary was born in 1874 in Malta Township, Ohio, daughter of William Brooks and Anna Dozer. She married William McElfresh in 1893 in Morgan, Ohio. They had 4 children: Cora, Russel, Raymond and Mable. Mary passed away in 1967 in Zanesville, Ohio.
