William King "Governor" Brooks issued a will dated 7 Apr 1892 in which he left all of his personal and real property to his wife, Matilda. His children by Elizabeth "Betsy" Clybourn are not mentioned. The administrator of the will was Thomas R. Waldron, Matilda's son by her first marriage. The will was proven on 5 Apr 1895.
