Cora Brown was born on August 13, 1898 on the Catawba Reservation, York, South Carolina. Her parents were John William Brown and Rachel Wysie George. She married Ernest Sanders about 1917. They were parents of a son, Melvin. Cora died on October 09,1918 in the Influenza epidemic and her son died the next day. [1][2] They are buried at the Catawba Indian Cemetery, York County, S.C. [3]
