Francis Brown was born in Cornwall, England.

The will of Francis Brown of St. Erme made 26th February 1781 and proved 6th May 1782. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By the Permission of God, I Francis Brown of saint Erm in the County of Cornwall yeoman, being weak in Body but of sound and Perfect Memory and Understanding (blessed be God for it) And knowing the uncertainty of this Transitory Life here on Earth Do make this my last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made.

Imprimis I give to my Son Francis Brown Five pounds of Lawful money of great Britain to be paid him by my Executor hereinafter mentioned in One year after my decease and if that he should happen to die before me, then the above mentioned Five pounds is equally to be divided amongst his children.

Item - I give and bequeath Unto my Daughter Ann Brown a House and Garden formerly in the possession of Mark Derring During her Life, And also I give and bequeath unto my Said Daughter Ann a Bed furnished which She now Lies upon, and also sufficient of the household goods of all necessaries to furnish a room, And also I give and bequeath to my said Daughter Ann Thirty Pounds of Good and Lawful Money of great Britain to be paid her in the following manner, by my Executor hereinafter Named (viz) Ten pounds per year for the Term of three Years from my Decease, to be paid her by Quarterly Payments if She Chuse it. And if my said Daughter Ann should happen to Die, then the House and Garden is equally to be Divided between my said Son Francis Brown and Richard Brown.

And all the Rest of my Goods and Chattles both Real and Personal, Rights and Credits of what nature or kind soever, which I shall Die Possessed of or intitled unto (Subject to the Payment of all my Just Debts and Legacies above given and bequeathed) I give and bequeath Unto my Son Richard Brown, And Also Nominate him to be My whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have to this my last will and Testament set my hand and Seal this Twenty Sixth Day of February in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty One.
