British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920

Sydney joined the army in 1907 and was promoted to sergeant in April 1914. He was a surveyor in the Royal Engineers until the start of WW1 and spent much of his time in Dublin.

In 1917 he attended Officer Training School at Kinmel Park and was appointed to a Permanent Commission in the 3rd Royal Berkshire Regiment in April 1918.

He left the army in 1923.
