Bartlett "Bartilot" Brown was born about 1732 as the oldest child of Benjamin Brown, Sr., and his first wife Anne Elizabeth (Hescott) Brown.[1]

Bartlett Brown married Katherine Holcomb in 1750 in Hanover, Virginia at about 18 years old. [2] Originally from Hanover County, Virginia, Bartlett Brown moved to South Carolina between 1753-1754 when he sold land in Louisa County, Virginia, and was described as a "resident of Orangeburg District, South Carolina." In 1776 he was briefly a soldier in the South Carolina militia during the American Revolution. In 1778, he was on a Jurors' List as a resident of Orangeburg District, South Carolina, USA.[3] [4]

Profile Mary Brown cannot be this Bartlett Brown's daughter if she was born in 1705. It's known he was born ca. 1731/32 when his parents married. Either her birth date is a typo for 1750 or she had different parents.

Problem here with Bartlett's birth year. He couldn't have been born in 1735 and fathered Mary born 1705. It would seem likely that Bartlett, father of Mary Brown Kirkland, also had a son or grandson, his namesake, which would be the Bartlett presented here. Glad to collaborate!
