Jacob Brown, the son of Jakob Braun and Elizabeth Goettgen was born about 1752 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He died 10 May 1841 (aged 88–89) in Washington County, Tennessee, United States and was buried at the Brown Family Farm Cemetery in Washington County, Tennessee, United States.[1]
He married Elizabeth Artmire [Ardmire] on 29 Aug 1774 in Salisbury, Rowan, North Carolina, United States. [2]
Jacob and Elizabeth were the parents of 4 children:

5. Jacob Brown, II
On 22 Jan 1816 he married Polly Salts in Washington, Tennessee, United States.[3]
Jacob Brown served in the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in 1777. He marched against the Cherokee Indians.
When he was almost 90, he created a will dated 19 February 1841. He names children and grandchildren, and left to his wife Mary his "still and tubs", furniture, sow, and pigs.
