Every morning when we visited, Grandma would make bacon and eggs, but Grandpa would go to the grocery store and get doughnuts. The kids preferred the doughnuts, which didn't make Grandma very happy.
Grandpa loved his riding lawn mower, and we all loved riding on it with him.
My grandfather, Glenn, as he was known, had a good sense of humor later in life and loved trying to egg on Grandma (Eloise). At his funeral, his pastor shared an amusing anecdote about him. One night when he and Grandma were having trouble sleeping, they decided to think of all the prepositions that they could. After a bit of time, Grandma said, "Let's go to bed." Grandpa responded, "That's not a preposition. That's a proposition."
