Biography

When John L. Brown was born on October 23, 1835, in Crawford, Indiana, his father, Daniel, was 42 and his mother, Catherine, was 33. He married Julia A. Thompson on October 16, 1872, in Williamson, Illinois. They had 13 children during their marriage. He died on January 5, 1931, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 95. Julia Thompson married John Brown on October 16, 1872, in Williamson, Tennessee. In 1880, John L. Brown was 44 years old and lived in Calvin, Kansas with his wife, Julia, son, and 2 daughters. They had 13 children in 22 years. In 1900, he was 64 years old and lived in Center, Kansas with his wife, Julia, 3 sons, and 2 daughters.^[1]
