Biography
A. J. Brown was listed as the father of Ellen M. Brown who wed Jefferson H. Gillespie May 24, 1864 in Jefferson County, Alabama as seen in an image of the original marriage register.[1]
Andrew J Brown was enumerated as self at Beat 5, Blount County, Alabama for the June 15, United States Census, 1880. He was noted as a farmer, born 1818 in South Carolina and married as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Henrie A Brown, son Seburn Ja Brown, son Marquis Brown, daughter Allie Brown and grandson Walter Gillispie.[2]
