Mary's birth date is not confirmed it is just a possible reference but it is a common name. See notes for John Brown. The IGI incorrectly lists the birth date as 1769. From the film is can be seen that the date is listed as 1766.

Mary's 45 year old son, Thomas, a "Hosier",[1] and 76 year old Mary[2] were in High Street Lanark, Lanarkshire in 1841. With them was 15 year old Mary Brown,[3] no doubt related to Mary Thomson, nee Brown. In 1851, Thomas was an unmarried "Stocking Maker" in High Street, Lanark.[4] Thomas died in 1855 at age 57 in Hamilton Burgh, Lanarkshire.[5]
