Biography

Gabrial was born about 1786. ... He passed away in 1852.

"Gabriel Brown was born in England in 1785, and trained as a wheelwright. " While in England he married Elizabeth Stacy and three children will born there.

He and family came to America and settled in Carrollton, Maryland, where three more children were born ... ran a carriage business in Carrollton for 10 years. Removed to St. John, New Brunswick, where he remained for six months, then removed to Prospect, Maine. At Prospect he engaged in farming, lumbering, and manufacture of heavy wheels, and where four more children were born.

After a time, Mr. Brown returned to England to collect money that was due him. It is said he brought back a trunk filled with silver dollars, ...”
