Biography

When Mary Elizabeth Brown was born on November 1, 1838, in Hart, Georgia, her father, Benjamin, was 26, and her mother, Milly, was 18. She married Tinsley Alexander Greenway (1834-1862) on October 8, 1857, in her hometown.^[1] He was a casualty of the Civil War who died late 1862 in Grainger County, Tennessee and Mary remained his widow until her death. Their known children are:^[2][3][4]

• Julia L. (c.1862)

She died on December 25, 1930, in Hart, Georgia,^[5] at the age of 92, and was buried in Hartwell, Georgia.^[6]
