Biography

Hannah Brown, daughter of Eleazer Brown and Sarah (Rowe) Brown, was born in Quinnipiac, New Haven, Connecticut on 19 June 1735.[1] Note: Death records report she was 93 at time of death, which conflicts with birth record.

She died in Bethany, New Haven County, Connecticut, 1 May 1824, buried Sperry Cemetery, Bethany; member of the First Congregational Society, New Haven and the Congregational Society, Woodbridge; married first in New Haven, New Haven County, 1 March 1758, Asa Morris; married second about 1772 (based on death of Daniel Tolles' first wife and birth of Hannah and Daniel's child.), Daniel Tolles.

Donald Lines Jacobus wrote in 1924[2]:

v Hannah, b 19 June 1735 NHV, bp 20 June 1735 NHC1, d 1 May 1824 ae. 93 BT3; m (1) 1 Mar 1758 NHV—Asa Morris; m (2) Daniel Tolles.

In 1932 Mr. Jacobus wrote[3]:

DANIEL [TOLLES], b c. 1705, bp 30 June 1728 NHC1, d 20 Jan 1782 ae. 77 BT1; m (1) Thankful da. Samuel & Mary (Cooper) Smith, b 30 Sep 1712 NHV, d 28 June 1769 ae. 58 BT1; m (2) Hannah da. Eleazer & Sarah (Rowe) Brown, wid. Asa Morris, b 19 June 1735 NHV, d 1 May 1824 ae. 93 BT3, WdC; Census, Hannah (Wd) 0-0-2.

ASA MORRIS, born at New Haven, 20 Feb. 1720/1, died there in 1760; married second, DANIEL TOLLES, born about 1705, died at New Haven [Bethany], 20 Jan. 1782. Mr. Tolles married first, Thankful Smith, who died 28 June 1769, by whom he had twelve children. Children by first husband, born at New Haven [Bethany]:
