After a invalid life 14 years, Mrs. Elizabeth C Brown Snidow responded to the invitation of her Master to "come up higher". March 8th,1906 at her home in Hickory county, Missouri. Mrs. Snidow was born June 24th, 1832 hence died at the ripe age of 73 years 8 months and 14 days. She and Captain W.L. Snidow were married June 27,1849 and lived happily together for more than 53 years. Unto to them were born 5 sons and five daughters - all whom survive. Her death so so sudden that they were unable to notify the absent children in time to have them with their mother in her last hours. There present in her death and funeral but two of her children "Carl & Liza". The latter, Eliza , has stayed with her parents and tenderly cared for them as only a Christian daughter could, up to their death. While the other children were dutiful and loving to their parents the duties of life required eight of them to leave the "old Homestead". Only the two , the son, Carl and Eliza were permitted to lovingly care for the old folks at the home in their last days. They rendered their consoling services with true affection. The body of sister Snidow was lain to rest beside that of her honored husband Capt. Snidow on the homestead a few rods north of their dwelling. A large gathering of sympathizing friends attended the burial. Funeral services were conducted by Professor Whitaker.
