Death: 1794. Pennsylvania, USA. Per Quaker record: "William Brown father of the Children above mentioned departed this life in his house at E. Nottingham Chester county the 13th of the 3rd month 1794 aged 64 Years..."[1]

"East Nottingham Preparative Meeting informs this Meeting that William Brown Son of Daniel Brown Senior, hath a few Days ago in a Clandestine Manner, taken Elizabeth the Daughter of William Knight, & 'tis believed is married to her by a Priest, without the Knowledge or Consent of her Parents, who (as they say) desired him not to to take any hasty or rash Step, & he solemnly promised he would not, were it in his Power: this Meeting therefore is of the Judgment that the Precaution of the Parents was in this Case sufficient; & confirming the great Scandal this Affair has brought on the Truth, doth appoint, Mordecai James, John Pugh junior, & John Brown to take an opportunity with them, & lay their Crime close before them, & endeavor to show them the Necessity there is for the Truth to be speedily cleared by a Publick Testimony which the said Friends are to Prepare against them before next mo. meeting..." image
