Lionel D. Brown 17, was found dead in his home southwest of Lovell late Tuesday afternoon. He had died of a gunshot wound which law enforcement officials termed "accidental." The officials would not comment farther except to state, upon questioning, that the bullet came from a "rifle." The rifle's caliber was not disclosed. No additional details were given.
The youth's body was discovered by members of his family.
The youth, a high school student, was born July 18, 1942, in Lovell. He was the son of Alma T. Brown; his mother died last October. Besides his father, he is survived by three brothers, W. Winn Brown, Gurn Brown and Val Brown, and a sister, Persis Ann Brown, all of Lovell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the LDS stake house. Bishop Scott Welch will officiate and burial will be in the Lovell cemetery under the direction of Haskell funeral home.
