John Brown was born at Providence, Rhode Island on May 18, 1662, son of John and Mary (Holmes) Brown. [1][2][3]
John held the title of Ensign, and lived in Johnston, Rhode Island. [2]
1693: John sold his brother Obadiah 60 acres west of the Sakesakett in the second division and a tract west of the 'seven mile line', once the lands of his grandfather Chad Browne. [3]
1706: May 20: John deeded to his brother Obadiah, certain lands inherited from his father. [2]
He married Isabel, daughter of James and Hannah (Field) Matthews on June 9, 1696 at Providence. [1][2][3]
John died on September 19, 1719. [1] The inventory of his personal estate amounted to £253, Is. 8d. His real estate consisted of the homestead, farm, &c., £500 ; lands and meadows at Wanscott, £100 ; land west of the Seven Mile Line, etc. [2][3]
John, born on March 26, 1697 [2]; died at Smithfield, Rhode Island on December 29, 1744; married Marcy/Mary Smith, daughter of Benjamin at Providence on March 16, 1724/5. [1][3]
