According to the Lakeside Tweedsmuir Book (date? link?):

Robert Gleason settled at Lakeside in 1832 and Charles Mitchell arrived in 1834, taking up the farm on the north shore of the lake where his grandson, Charles Mitchell now resides. The pioneer preacher, T. B. Brown, came to the settlement a few years later carrying in a bag all his worldly possessions, which it is said included a violin and a little bottle of whiskey, the later being used for medical purposes.

Later, Rev. Brown was a Methodist minister.

Married wife Amanda Harris, who was born in Dereham, Ontario.

According to a post (date? link?) from the East Nissouri History Book group, there was a Brown Reunion:

The Program of the Brown, Uren, Gleason, Vining Picnic, August 2nd, 1922, to be held at Springbank, London, Ont. This is the 100th anniversary of the Brown's coming to Nissouri. Thomas Uren came in 1820, Rev. S. Vining in 1821 and Reuben Gleason in 1826.
