David Lloyd Brown, age 68, of Elkton, MD, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Born on May 23, 1943, in Nottingham, PA, he was the son of the late James and Lucy Reedy Brown.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Brown retired from Chesapeake Publishing, where he was a warehouseman. He loved life, family and friends the most, followed by Thoroughbred horse racing and cars.
Survivors include his daughter, Chele Schirmer and husband, Jim, Bel Air, MD; grandson, Andrew Rutherford, Bel Air, MD; loving best friend of more than 20 years, Patty Hutton, and her children, Mark R. Hutton, Jr. and wife, Kristy, and Stephanie A. Solomon and husband, Dave; and siblings, Ronald "Jay" Brown, Phyllis Smith, Stanley Brown, all of Elkton, MD, Lucille Powell, Newark, DE, and Frances Dowell, Blountville, TN. In addition, "Pop-Pop" will be lovingly missed by Dylan, Ava, Cooper and Ellie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Rutherford; and siblings, Gary Brown, Zelda Cherwaty, Carl Brown and Shirley Stribling.
Funeral service with military honors will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD, where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Matthew "Hank" Rutherford Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1200C Agora Drive, Box No. 420, Bel Air, MD 21014.[1]
