Research Notes

BROWN--Near Lamar, Ottawa Co., Kans., March 26, 1891, of dropsy, Jacob C.Brown, aged 76 years, 9 months and 24 days. Deceased was born in StarkCounty, Ohio. He also lived in Hancock, Williams and Wyandotte Counties.In 1856 he and family moved to Iowa, where they remained for three yearsafter which he again returned to Wyandotte County, Ohio. May 3, 1852, hemarried Mrs. Alvira Kennedy. Seven children blessed their union. Whentwenty one years of age he joined the Brethren church, and has ever sincebeen a faithful member. In October, 1869, he, with his family, went toWashington County, Kansas. Here he lived until about five years ago, whenhe removed to the vicinity of Lamar, Ottawa County Co., Kans.
