James Brown was enumerated as son of the head of the household at Farris, Farris Township, Atoka County, Oklahoma for the April 10, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1932 in Arizona and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Mildred Brown, wife Frances Brown and daughter Barbara Ann Brown.^[1]

James J Brown is buried at Greenfield Cemetery in Greenfield, Monterey County, California.^[2]
