DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:
Brown-121702 and Brown-38662 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicates once wives Frances M. Hodges-3649 and Frances Hodges-8722 are merged. and sons Thomas Elmer Brown-121671 and Thomas Elmer Brown-38620 are merged. Frances Hodges & Thomas Elmer Brown merges initiated April 21, 2021.
Brown-39453 and Brown-38662 appear to represent the same person because: The 2 men have the same birth date. I've already emailed with Sandy Adams (profile manager of Brown-38662) that the death date of William Brown-38662 (1828) has to be wrong since his son Thomas Elmer Brown was born in 1839. She agreed. I think the parents of Brown-38662 have been conflated. I have found an Ancestry.com tree (https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/56463549/person/310052960878/story) that shows Thomas Elmer Brown's parents as William Brown and Frances Hodges and then William Brown's parents are Robert Allen Brown-21263 and Lydia Harris-16514 (which matches the parents of William Brown-39453). I believe William Brown-38662 and Susanna Unknown-282856 are not the correct parents for William Brown.
