Biography

I was born in 1945 in Indiana and have one sister. We have been searching for details primarily about our paternal ancestors since our father died. We grew up in east central Illinois and I now live in Minnesota. I recently retired after 35 years as a university professor and 6 years as a high school teacher. My retirement has greatly strengthened my desire to better understand my family tree. It appears that many of my Brown family ancestors emigrated from Scotland and England and I look forward to visit locations where these ancestors lived in Europe. Hopefully the resources of WIKITREE will help me better understand how to overcome the barriers that have obstructed my search efforts since 1990.

Hello Jim,

Thank you for joining WikiTree and for signing our Honor Code. As a WikiTree Mentor I am available to answer any questions or help solve any issues you may be having.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? They are already here on Wikitree! Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

Feel free to ask me via my profile page if you have any questions.

Welcome! Marshall

I have been searching since 1990 for details on my distant paternal grandparents (both born in southern Indiana during the 1790s). I am looking forward to sharing info about my family with others who also are looking to learn more about our ancestors. This has become even more important to me since I retired in 2015.
