Biography

Henry was born on March 9, 1905 at Cherry Fork in Scott County, Tennessee. He was the son of William Brown and Rebecca ( York ) Brown . He married Juanita Phillips on February 14, 1935 at Huntsville in Scott County. Henry passed away on November 5, 1981 at the Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Delaware County, Indiana.

BROWN, HENRY C. died 5 Nov 1981 Henry C. Brown, 76, of Springport, Ind., passed away Thursday morning, November 5, at Ball Hospital in Muncie, Ind. following an extended illness. Mr. Brown was formerly an Oneida policeman and Scott County Deputy Sheriff and also served at one time as Chief of Police in Burnside, Ky. He moved to Henry County, Indiana in 1951 and retired from General Motors in 1965. He attended the Springport Christian Church and was a member of the U. A. W., The Sympathy Club of General Motors, and the National Rifle Association. The son of the late William and Rebecca York Brown, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Juanita P. Brown, who passed away in May; two sisters; two brothers; and one daughter. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Juannelle) Jacobs of Beaver Creek, O.; two sisters: Mrs. Ray (Hattie) Brose of Cincinnati, O., and Mrs. James (Mac) Boothe of South Gate, Ky.; a brother, Elmer Brown of Huntsville; a half-sister, Mrs. Frank (Ardella) Wilson of Strunk, Ky.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Sunday, November 8, at Macer Funeral Home in New Castle, Ind. with Rev. David Haggard officiating. Graveside services and burial were held at noon on Monday, November 9, at Mt.
