27 Oct 1832 Thomas is baptized at Presbyterian Church, Martinsburg, Knox, Ohio.^[1]

1850 Thomas is listed as a miller's son, living with his parents and eight siblings in Washington Township, Licking County, Ohio, USA.^[2] He is helping his father with the mill and also still attending school.

ABT 1852 Thomas and his family move to Wheatland, Bureau County, Illinois.

1860 Thomas, his wife and their three children are living on his parents farm in Macon Township, Bureau County, Illinois now.^[3] Five of his sibling are living with them as well. There is also an adult male staying with the family, I assume him to a laborer. In comparison they didn't have much possessions.
