********************* Dora's age was always a topic of conversation in my family. Now that I have reseached her records I know why. *************Biggs-2149 3:09, July 7, 2022.*******

(Tn. Certificate of Death shows DOB 1874. 1900 Census shows DOB 1881. 1910 Census shows DOB 1885. 1920 Census shows DOB 1886. (Dora born 1874 in Gallatin, Sumner County, TN.)

Dora's Father was Robert T. Brown, 1851 until 03-14-1916., Her Mother was Lou Netta C. Eaves, 11/11/1851 until 06/14/1918. Both of her parents buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville TN.

Dora married Henry H. Williams.

1900 Census shows Dora age 18, born July 1881, and Henry age 23, born June 1877, and child Henry Albert age , born Apil 1877. Dora has given birth to two children one of whom is living. According to this record Dora was born in July 1881, and Henry was born in Jan. 1899. Henry works as a painter. Henry and his Mother were born in TN. His Father is listed as born in France. Dora and both her parents were born in TN. At the time of this census, Dora, Henry, and child, Henry Albert shared a home with Dora's brother John W. Brown and his family. The residence was 1714 North Vine Street, Nashville, TN.

Dora and Albert Lamb married 08/09/1908.

1940 Davidson County TN. Census shows Dora age 54, widowed, living @2005 9th Ave N. Nashville. Dora's grandson, Melvin William Biggs JR. age 19. His wife Vera Biggs age 19, as boarders. Dora's grandson, Charles A. Biggs age 17, single.


1930 1920 Davidson County TN. Census shows Dora 33 , Albert Lamb 30, Aline Williams Biggs 16, daughter, and Melvin William Biggs18, son-in-law. Residence 2005 9th Ave N.

Dora died 11/28/1959. Nashville TN. She is buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Nashville Davidson County TN. Find-A-Grave # 188088514.

Based on F.A.G. 188088514. Dora's Obit, her cause of death was Hypertension and arteriosclerotic Heart Disease. According to death record Dora was born 07/18/1874.

According to FAG info., her sisters were: Susie Brown, Nashville TN. Bertha Bell, Macon GA., Rose Petty, Miami FL.

Dora was my paternal Great Grandmother. As a child I remember her quilting frames stayed up in her bedroom all winter. She would only use a wood burning cook stove. Everyday there were giant biscuits in the warming closet any time we needed a snack.
