Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Hey Don!

The merger you just suggested for Stephen Brown (1715 - 1795) works for me. Just let me know what you need me to do for this.

Hi Don, Welcome to WikiTree! I see that you've uploaded a couple of gedcoms. I strongly encourage you to spend some time on WikiTree, entering parents, grandparents, etc. and their siblings, by hand, learning a bit more about WikiTree, before you import a gedcom into WikiTree. When you add a gedcom and many of your people are already on WikiTree, and you correctly skip them, you end up having to go back and manually reconnect parents and children. If you don't skip them, then you have duplicates that have to be merged. I know it sounds like just uploading your gedcom to WikiTree might be faster, but those of us who have worked with WikiTree for some time have found in the long run it's often best to enter them manually. Let me know if I can help. Kay Wilson
