Note: This is the second son named John born to John Browne, Junior, and his wife, Hannah. Their first son named John was born at Salem in April 1659 and died about 6 weeks later.^[1]

John was born 21 Feb, 1661/2 at Salem, Essex, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Browne (of the Southampton, Hamps Brownes) & Hannah Hobart

John married Rachel Gardner on 31 Aug. 1686 Nantucket, Massachusetts as her 1st husband; she married James Gardner 2nd. She was the daughter of Priscilla Grafton & Capt. John Gardner.
