Biography

Anna Browne daughter of Samuel (son of Samuel & Abigail (Keech) Browne) was baptized 17 September 1738 at Salem, Essex county, Massachusetts.[1] Samuel Browne married notable Katherine Winthrop, Anna's mother, on 30 March 1732 at New London, Connecticut. They resided in Salem, Massachusetts until Samuel's death before 1744. Father Samuel was a large land-holder. Her brother William was a notable United Empire Loyalist and Governor of Bermuda among other earlier titles.
