Biography

Frederick William Joseph Browne was born in 1864 in Carlisle, Cumberland, England, United Kingdom, son of Robert John Browne and Eliza Wilson.[1] Frederick was baptised on 13 April 1864 in Carlisle St Cuthbert.[2]

In the 1871 census Fred (age 7) was the son of Robert John Browne in Carlisle, Cumberland, England. He was a scholar and his father was a railway superintendant.[3]

John Clugston & Maggie McDermot were witnesses to the marriage.[4] Together they had one child, Thomas Hay Ritchie Browne (1892–1954) before her death the following year.

Frederick (age 33), son of Robert John Browne, married Annie Bryant (born about 1870 in England; daughter of John James Bryant, age 25) on 15 April 1897 in Hulme, Holy Trinity, Lancashire, England.[5]

In the 1901 census Frederick (age 37) was the married head of household in Cromac, County Antrim, Ireland. He was a Traveller.[6]
