John Browne was born at Killingly, Connecticut, in mid-November of 1728, a son of John & Mary (maiden surname not known) Brown.[1] He did not receive land when his brothers did, so he must have died before 1776.[2]
Research Notes
Note that this is _a different John Browne_ from the John Brown born at Windsor, Connecticut, on 4 November 1728, a son of John, Jr., and Mary (Egelston) Brown; that John appears to have died as an infant, early in the following February. [Note: this online genealogy source raises a question about this John Brown's father's second marriage, and whether this John Brown is in fact his son; the Killingly records, however, do clearly show John, a son of John & Mary. Note also that this genealogy may not be fully reliable, as while omitting John, it shows the birth of a brother Josiah in 1728 who does not appear in the Killingly records.] Genealogy of the Bryan and Martin Families www.bryan-martin.net/genealogy
