  10. James, b. 15 Jul 1698, Newbury, MA.[15] ; "non compos mentis" "living with mother Jane (Browne, Lunt) Mayo in 1737" [Davis, p.18] [5] ; bro. John appointed as guardian, 2 Oct 1740

Husband Henry Lunt died 15 October 1709 in his 58th year. Administration of his estate was granted to their son Henry (Henry, Henry) on 10 January 1709/10 but was dismissed the following 8th March and brother William substituted. [5] However on 14 July 1712 administration was then granted to William's brother john Lunt "William Lunt being gone to sea and not heard of before he had completed his administration". [5] Davis states that "no inventory was filed until 28 April 1737 when the real estate (only) was valued at L1022:14:0" and division was made with Henry Lunt (Henry, Henry) the eldest receiving two-ninths and one-ninth going to: John; Daniel; Samuel; Skipper; James; Mary alias Wingett and Jane alias Drake". [Davis, p.14.] Davis also states that Henry's widow "Mrs. Jane Lunt Mayo" was still living in 30 September 1737 age about 80 but not mentioned so her dower must have been set off earlier." [Davis, p.14.]

On 29 October 1712 "Mr. Joseph Mayo published his intent to marry Mrs. Jane Lunt in Newbury, Massachusetts". [16][17] Davis also says Henry's widow, Mrs. Jane Lunt, Sen. married in Newbury int. on the 29th of October 1712, Joseph Mayo. [Davis, p.13.] [5] [18]

DEATH
Jane (Browne, Lunt) Mayo was still living September 30, 1737, age about 80, based on her deposition of that date.[5]

It is interesting to note that for at least the next 150 years the names of her ten children are consistently repeated throughout each succeeding generation of her descendants.

RESEARCH NOTES
Caution, birth year transcription error: According to a typed version of the Boston, Massachusetts vital records, which reorganizes (by hand) the original church and town records into a alphabatized surname pattern (where the years are all 'jumbled' up) "Jane Browne, daughter of Abraham and Jane Browne of Boston was born the 9th August 1653." [19] This birth year error is found in the familysearch.org website profile for Jane (Skepper) Browne although in 2023 an edit was made to correct the birth year to 1657 from 1653.
