In the book by M. L. Donnelly, on Beaverdam Manor Tenants/Owners, pg. 56, she indicates that Derrick Brown was born 1651 in Virginia. He was the son of Richard Brown and ____. Derrick Brown was a planter and gave his age as 70 in a disposition in 1721 (PL:738). Derrick Brown was responsible for administering his father's estate and was in possession of "Clarke's Rest" the home plantation of his father, Richard Brown. Clarke's Rest was located near the land belonging to the Abell Family, "Chance Conclusion".
