Charles Hill Broyles was a life long resident of Sparta, White Co., Tennessee only leaving to serve in WWI. Hill was the second son born to Amos Dow Broyles and Lucy Isabella "Belle" Mitchell. Hill married Birdie B. Broyles September 20, 1916. They were the parents of Ellen Norwood Broyles and Jesse Lorine Broyles Sewell. He was the grandfather of Charles Alvin Broyles and Lois Elaine Sewell. He was a brother of William Nile Broyles and Hosea Clyde Broyles, Sr. Hill died on 21 June 1959 and his daughter Jesse Lorine Broyles Sewell died 4 July 1959; both from cancer. He had a U. S. Mail Delivery Route and he delivered mail down in Mt. Gilead Church area where my grandmother, Myrtle Rhea Snodgrass lived --his daughter Norwood would drive him on his route. He owned several farms in his lifetime in White County, Tennessee.
