About Isabella

Isabel Bruce, is thought to have been a descendant of King Robert Bruce of Scotland. King Robert Bruce and William Wallace were equally famous. The two were contemporaries, born about the same time. So it is possible that we all descend from Scotland's two greatest heroes.
This particular family, it would seem, actually belongs to the vast bourgeois, (the social class between the very wealthy and the working class; middle class.) except for the allied lines of marriage. However, they were a proud people who believed in fighting...yes, even dying for what they believed to be right.[2]

Research Notes

It is not completely clear that the birth information is for the correct Isabella Bruce. The citation is from Find a Grave, which is considered unreliable. A search for a primary birth record on 10 Sep 2022 via Family Search gives results of 4 different Isobel Bruces born in Scotland between 1638-1642. More research is warrented to find definitive proof.

What documentation is there (beyond others' family trees) to support the conclusion that Isabella Bruce is the mother of John Woods (b. 1654) and/or that she married John Woods (1628-1710)?

There doesn't seem to be any document naming Isabella Bruce, as daughter of Patrick Bruce.. Not sure where this name came from, but needs more research, other than some family trees. Lots of people try to attach to someone famous without proof, so perhaps that is how it all got started. Please remove confidence and make it uncertain, until proof is found.
