Biography

Willis was born in 1794. Willis Brumfield passed away in 1833. [1]

Willis enlisted in the Louisiana Militia during the War of 1812. He served in the 12th & 13th Consolidated Regt. Under the command of Captain William Bickham grandson of American Patriot Abner Bickham.

I have seen the name recorded as John Willis and Willis John; not documentation at this time.

On 25 Jan 1818, Willis married Jenny Holmes (1797-after 1880), the daughter of Elisha Warren Holmes and Sarah “Sally” Stovall.

She is buried Magee's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Walthall County, Mississippi
  3. Elisha Brumfield 23 May 1822 former Pike County, Mississippi before 1860 (probably former Pike County) married Salena Arvozena Jane Warner (daughter of Rev. Thomas Coalter Warner & Jane Smith (a daughter. of Jeremiah & JoAnna Dillon Smith); 2 children. She married 2nd Elbert Green Haley and she is buried in the Warner Cemetery, Warnerton, Washington Parish, Louisiana

Church Cemetery, Tangipahoa Parish. He is most likely there also, but no proof.

Willis Nathaniel Brumfield 31 March 1834 Washington Parish, Louisiana - 21 Dec 1895 former Pike County, Mississippi married Nancy Elizabeth Haley (sister of Elbert Green Haley above and daughter of Elbert Haley & Priscilla Rimes) 12 Children; both buried Rev. Jesse Crawford Cemetery., Walthall County, Mississippi.

Willis died 16 Oct 1833 in Washington Parish, Louisiana Jenny m/ Nazareth Faust on 24 Aug 1844, and they made their home in Pike County, Mississippi. [2]
