Obituary of John Q. Brumfield: "John Q. Brumfield was born 28 Oct 1825; was married to Dorcas Magee, December 23, 1847. After her death, he married Mary Dillon March 21, 1860, and after her death married Esther Turner, September 22, 1865. United with Mt. Pisgah's Baptist Church July, 1863; excluded in 1865; restored July, 1867; dismissed by letter March 7, 1874; received again by letter 1889, where he remained a member until death, which occurred May 20, 1907. He leaves a wife, nine children, forty-nine grandchildren, and fifty-two great-grandchildren."
