Andrée Brun was born about 21 Aug 1646 in La Chaussée, Poitou, France, daughter of Vincent Brun (abt. 1611–abt. 1686) and Renée Breau (abt. 1616–bef. 1678). She was baptized on August 21, 1646, in Notre-Dame Parish, La Chaussée, province of Poitou (today département de la Vienne), France.[1][2]

Andrée (21) married Germain Thériot (21) (born in 1646 in Port-Royal, Acadie; son of Jean Thériot and Perrine Rau) in 1668 in Port-Royal, Acadie. No place is given for the marriage by Stephen White.[3] Their known children were:

  1. Germain Thériot (1669–bef. 1750) .
  2. Pierre Thériot (abt. 1671– ) .
  3. Catherine Thériot (1674–aft. 1745)

They appeared in the first census of Port-Royal in 1671. Andrée was 25 years and Germain was the same age. They had one child, Germain, age 2. They possessed 2 arpents of land, 5 cattle and 2 sheep. Andrée was also listed in her parents' entry as married, age 24.[4]

The widowed Andrée Brun (33) married Emmanuel Hebert (26) (born about 1653 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France; son of Étienne Hébert and Marie Gaudet) in 1680 in Port Royal, Acadie. Their known children were:

  1. Guillaume Hebert (1680–bef. 1732) .
  2. Marguerite Hebert (abt. 1682–abt. 1723) .
  3. Jean Hebert (abt. 1683–bef. 1748) .
  4. Jacques‎ Hébert (abt. 1684–1747) .
  5. Alexandre (Hebert) Hébert (abt. 1685– ) .
  6. Martin Hebert (1687– )

In 1686, at Port-Royal, Andree BRUN, aged 40 was living with her husband, Emanuel [sic] HEBERT, aged 30, and their five children: Guillaume, aged 6, Marguerite, aged 5, Jean, aged 3, Jacques, aged 2 and a 1-month-old baby not baptized. Also living with them were the three children of Andrée's former marriage with Germain TERRIOT [sic]: Germain, aged 18, Pierre, aged 15, and Catherine, aged 12. The family owned 1 gun and were living on 4 arpents of cultivable land with 14 cattle, 21 sheep and 8 hogs.[5]

By 1693, they had a prosperous farm with 30 arpents of cultivable land, 20 cattle, 40 sheep, 15 hogs and 1 gun.[6]

Emmanuel and Andrée continued to farm and to raise their children in Port-Royal as shown in the censuses between 1698 and 1707.[7][8][9][10]

Finally, by 1714, Emmanuel and Andrée, age about 61 and 68, were living alone.[11]

Andrée died 25 Jul 1727 in Port-Royal and was buried there the next day. She was around 80 years old. Witnessed by Jean Duon and Denios Petitot who both signed.[12][13][3]
