Jonathan was born on 15 January 1798 in Garrard County, Kentucky. He was the son of John Bryant and Mary (Owsley) Bryant.
Jonathan died at the age of 81 on 25 September 1879 in Camden Point, MO. Age: 81
Jonathan was buried in September 1879 in Platte Co, Missouri.
Jonathan Owsley Bryant was the ninth child of Mary and John Bryant. Around the early part of 1810, Jonathan is recorded as possessing some land in the Louisiana Territory, which is part of Platte County Missouri today. Since he was only twelve years old at the time, his father might have purchased the land for him. He later moved to this land.
 
When Jonathan married Martha Kissinger, their bondman was Lewis Hutchinson, Martha's brother-in-law (Martha's sister was Nancy). Martha's father was John Kissinger. Her nickname was Patsy.
 
Jonathan & Martha settle in New Market, Missouri, in April 1857, and remained there until their death. Jonathan made his living as a farmer. In 1840, he owned five slaves.
 
Jonathan & Martha were buried in the Camden Point Cemetary.
