Obituary from Rock Hill Herald: Mr. S. A. Bryant an old and well-known citizen of Rock Hill died at his home in the Highland Park mill village about 12 o'clock last Tuesday. Funeral exercises were conducted at Jennings Chapel at noon Wednesday by Reverand Alexander Martin and the interment was at Laurelwood Cemetary. Mr. Bryant was about 60 years of age and had been residing in Rock Hill for the past 20 years or longer. He was the faithful watchman at the Highland Park Mfg Company for a number of years. Resigning his position there two years ago, he accepted a similar one at the Aragon Mill, which he held until a few months ago, being forced to give up work on account of failing health. He fell in a faint while on duty and was never able to do much more work. He was a quite unassuming citizen and enjoyed the esteem and confidence of all who knew him. Besides a widow the deceased is survived by two sons and one daughter Messrs John Bryant of Charlotte and Mack Bryant of Duke, NC and Mrs. J. J. Shaw of this city.
