Mary is the daughter of John Bryant and Charity ?Copland.

In addition to the children she had by her husband John Polly, Mary was the mother of three: Mary Bryant Jones (1810), John Bryant (1814), and George Bryant (1815).

P. Bryant

Mary was an extremely common name, and adding to the potential confusion with this person is that her married name, "Polly," was also the common nickname for people named Mary. So people have been getting this person mixed up with other persons named Mary "Polly" Bryant. Currently on Ancestry there is a photograph alleged to be of this Mary. Long story short, I tracked it down and it turned out to be a photo of Nancy Rose Bryant, wife of Minor Bryant, instead. I just mentioned this in case the photo purporting to be Mary shows up elsewhere.
