Name
The first name of ___ Buchanan/Buchannon who married Thomas Berry (1718-c1799) has not been discovered.[1][2][3]
Someone has suggested it was "Mary BUCHANAN" but has offered no supporting evidence[4][5][6]

Thomas's two wives
Most sources . . . indicate that Thomas Berry was married twice, although there is some disagreement on the names of the two wives. The surname of the first wife, Buchannon (1718 - 1755), is known from a number of sources, and, while several researchers have suggested a number of given names, (Mary, Esther, Rebecca), no documentation has been found, to date, to support any of these claims. On the other hand, the first name of his second wife, Esther (1730 - 1822) appears in a significant number of primary sources, but there is no information on her surname. Thomas Berry is believed to have married his first wife ? (unknown first name) Buchannon sometime around 1738 or 1741, and after her death, married Esther Ward on 16 March 1757."][8]
Marriage
Thomas Berry and Unknown Buchanan were married in 1741 in Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia,[9] and had five known children:
