Muiredach mac Eógain died circa 489. He was a King of Ailech and leader of the Cenél nEógain branch of the northern Uí Néill.
Muireadach, son of Eoghan, married Earca, the daughter of Loarn King of Dalriada in Scotland. They had many children, including Muirecetach Mac Earca Mor and Fergus Mac Earca Mor. Fergus Mor became an ancestor of the Kings of Scotland. [1]
Muiredach mac Eógain was the son of the founder of this dynasty Eógan mac Néill (died 465).[2]
