Biography

Muiredach mac Eógain died circa 489. He was a King of Ailech and leader of the Cenél nEógain branch of the northern Uí Néill.

Muireadach, son of Eoghan, married Earca, the daughter of Loarn King of Dalriada in Scotland. They had many children, including Muirecetach Mac Earca Mor and Fergus Mac Earca Mor. Fergus Mor became an ancestor of the Kings of Scotland. [1]

Muiredach mac Eógain was the son of the founder of this dynasty Eógan mac Néill (died 465).[2]

MacOwen-6 and Mac Eógain-2 appear to represent the same person because: Same father and similar name. See note on MacOwen-6 for more details about that profile.

Buchanan-1520 and Mac Eógain-2 appear to represent the same person because: Same person. The only data I can find on his dob/dod is that he died circa 489, which means he probably wasn't born in 363.
