Biography

Malcolm Buchanan is a member of Clan Buchanan.

Malcolm was born in 1846. ^[1][2][3][4]

Malcolm, son of "Daniel" and Sarah, Buchanan married Margaret Ann McCall, 25 Dec 1877, in Lucknow.^[5] This is the only record where Donald is listed as a "Daniel". I'm not sure if this is an actual middle name, sometimes used, or whether it was an error. My grandmother recounted how her great-grandparents had very thick accents, and how Sarah reverted to only speaking Gaelic, in her very old age, after dementia had set in. Donald may have been misheard, or, maybe his name was something in between Daniel and Donald, "Donal"?, and everyone misheard. Everyone thought they were from Scotland, themselves, rather than P.E.I.

He passed away in 1918.^[6]
