Biography

The Family of Lewis and Margaret Buffington Harvey Lewis Harvey and Margaret Buffington of Jefferson Co. IL were married in Jefferson Co. Il on 6 Jan 1842. Margaret Buffington was the daughter of Abraham Buffington and Margaret Ward who was a daughter of Lloyd Ward of Frederick Co. MD. It is believed Margaret's sister was Elizabeth "Betsey" Ward who was Zachariah Harvey's first wife. Lewis Harvey was the son of Basil Harvey and Mary "Polly" Hall whose parents were Gabriel Hall and Tenna (unknown). Their family is shown on the 1850 census record for Jefferson Co. The story of William Harvey's picture is a truly remarkable one. It was sent to me by Marilyn Williamson a descendant of Ellen Harvey. (Williamson were the neighbors of the Harvey's in Illinois. add setu) The picture of William Harvey, now with his descendants, is a wonderful family treasure. Thanks to Marilyn's generosity, my great-grandfather William has become more than just a name and some dates.
