Esther (Bullard) Bethell is part of a Bahamian family.

Biography

Hester Bullard was born in the Bahama Islands probably to Solomon and Ann Bullard. She was christened 13 March 1722 in New Providence, Bahamas by the Reverend Thomas Curphey. [1]

She appeared in the Book C Census of 1738-1740 residing in Eleuthera with Solomon and Ann, Nathaniel and Charles, and Ann Bullard.

Hester married Noah Bethell, son of John and Sarah Bethell, 10 February 1753, at Christ Church, Nassau, Bahamas. Noah and Hester had children - among them John, Ann, Charles, Sarah Ann, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Jonathan, and Viner (Winer) Bethell.

Hester Bullard Bethell died 23 August 1808 in Governor's Harbour, Eleuthera, Bahamas. The Royal Gazette reported her death as follows: "Died .. At Governor's Harbour (Eleuthera) on the 23rd inst. in the 89th year of her age, Mrs. Hester Bethell .. her death will be long lamented by her children and numerous acquaintances."
