David Bruce Bunting Sr., 71, of Decatur, Ala., formerly of Olney, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at his residence.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur, Ala. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Bunting was born on March 27, 1930, in Royal Oak, Mich., the son of Oliver R. and Alta May (Doty) Bunting. He married Barbara Patton. She preceded him in death.
He was retired from the City of Olney and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Mr. Bunting is survived by a son, David Bruce Bunting, Jr. and his wife, April, of Olney; three daughters, Mitzi Steed and her husband, Hugh, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Linda Hayden of Nashville, Tenn., and Jackie Thompson, of Athens, Ala.; one stepson, Jim Reeves and his wife, Janice, of Decatur, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Fawn Glenn, of Decatur; one sister, Lora Ethel Stevens, of Alvin, Texas; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
